PANOPTICON

Your self, exposed

The area of your digital self and the place where all the faces of technology can see you

The Exhibition of your digital self

In a nutshell

The panopticon is a disciplinary concept brought to life in the form of a central observation tower placed within a circle of prison cells. From the tower, a guard can see every cell and inmate but the inmates can't see into the tower. Prisoners will never know whether or not they are being watched.

Welcome to your digital life. All of your friends are here.

The entrance

The Panopticon exhibition is a space that presents the digital world, in which we all "circulate", in its real dimension, both technocratic and anthropocentric. It is a transparent room of your digital self, a space where you see all the faces of technology and all these faces are staring you in the face. Walking and looking better in there you see yourself too, aspects of your life with your digital copy that you know for the first time.

All this as technology in all its forms infiltrates everywhere, on a global scale and integrates into every part of our lives and our environment, this exhibition examines the effects of technology and helps visitors to perceive reality, to look at their digital self in the mirror and to explore practical solutions to mitigate exposure and risk in this new world.

Before you leave, we want to share with you the need to raise awareness around digital rights and privacy. How likely is it that this content you just saw in front of you was published by other companies, organisations and pages?

The messages we transmit are the building blocks of Democracy. The necessary work that accompanies them, however, is neither easy, nor cheap, nor profitable. Our organisation is a non-profit organisation with the mission of informing, raising awareness and protecting human rights, and we rely on citizens to have a strong, meaningful and above all larger presence.

We wonder with you: how can the world evolve without the defence of Democracy and human rights?

Who will hold leaders and institutions accountable for the principles and values they proclaim to have? How many covert rights violations, law violations, and dystopian technologies would have remained hidden if our positions were not in the field?

WE NEED YOU, HONESTLY

Participation in the project is easy and simple. Support our work as a member with a small contribution of even €1. This vital support keeps us structurally independent, free from shareholders or oligarch funders and means we can keep our work and quality reporting open and available to all.

We believe in truth, information and Democracy. We understand that not everyone can afford to pay for this work, but if you are, we need you.
